Our church lives to serve
A large percentage of our income from tithes and offerings is used to support the following missions:
PROVIDENCE RESCUE MISSION – The Providence Rescue Mission is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization in the West End of Providence, Rhode Island. They are more than just a homeless shelter and soup kitchen. Their goal is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ while treating every individual that comes through our doors with dignity and respect. Their core belief is that God does miracles, and due to patrons’ faithful support, they see miracles every day. All of the services they provide are made available to every member of the community. There is never a charge for anything that they offer. By providing these necessary services with the dignity and love of the Lord, they make a direct and lasting impact on the people they serve on a daily basis.

HARMONY WOMEN’S CARE – This Rhode Island organization helps women who are facing unplanned pregnancies, providing testing, ultrasounds, support, material goods (such as baby clothes, diapers, etc) as well as post-abortion support should they go that route. They inform about other options besides abortion, turning a woman’s fear into confidence, to the glory of Jesus Christ.

RHODE ISLAND FAMILY INSTITUTE – The Institute, which is a part of a national alliance with a presence in 42 states, is networked with 3 other well-known and effective Faith and Family organizations: Focus on the Family, Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) and the Family Research Council located in Washington DC. Dave Aucoin is its Executive Director. Its mission is to make Rhode Island a state where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished.

GIDEON’S, Narragansett Branch – The Gideons International is an Association of Christian business and professional men and their wives dedicated to telling people about Jesus through associating together for service, sharing personal testimony, and by providing Bibles and New Testaments. While we are often recognized for our work with hotels, we also place and distribute Scriptures in strategic locations so they are available to those who want them, as well as to those who may not know they need them.

Jana is a former member of Stony Lane Church who is OMF’s missionary. She teaches English as well as fish farming at the university.
